Embrace the Observers

Have you ever noticed that when people watch you as you're doing something there seems to be an unusual amount of pressure to not mess it up? It's in those moments that the colors come out. You could be running the race of your life or maybe you're just doing your 9-5 job to keep the bills paid. When pressure is added, your foundation is tested. Did you prepare as well as you thought you did? Do you listen to the doubts that say you're not good enough? What will they think about you if you fail? Do you care about that? What drives you to get the job done when you are under pressure? Is it yourself? Your family? Your future? How much you care about something comes out in how much you prepare. This applies to so many things. Your preparation for the business meeting, the time you put in to doing homework, the research you do on your own time, the time you spend with God, being intentional to save money and invest. The work you do when nobody watches you will be noticed when people do watch you. So, embrace the moments when you're not noticed and embrace the moments when you are. In the end, there is always a bigger picture.
